Last week I bought 250 battered and worn antique doors in Bolsward, Friesland. They are all different lush colors and textures. As I construct my sculptures from old wood with the original paint layer intact this is an immense luxury for me. I’m all set for like the next decade or so.

also; I finished a new bas-relief today but my photocamara batteries were completely empty. I’ll show it here tomorrow.

If you, like me, missed out on the latest Chapman bros. show called If Hitler Had Been a Hippy How Happy Would We Be you can get a hint of it via the above link. It’s not a Jake and Dinos portfolio but a video of their scale model of hell that was on show at White Cube until last week. Its pretty disturbing stuff. This is a scaled up and updated version of an earlier work that was burned in the Saatchi warehouse fire of 2004. The show also held a number of adaptations of Adolf Hitler paintings with rainbows applied to them. See some of them here
